GETIDOS - Getting things done sustainably
Theory, empirical basis and potential of social entrepreneurship for sustainable development
GETIDOS is a social-ecological research group focused on the role and potential of social entrepreneurship in the context of finding and implementing sustainable solutions in the water sector. We do research on social entrepreneurship initiatives, work closely together with social entrepreneurs and provide educational opportunities on social entrepreneurship and societal change.
GETIDOS stands for “Getting things done sustainably”. On the one hand, entrepreneurial action stands for a pragmatic “getting things done”. On the other hand, sustainable development is a fundamentally open, long-term process. Do social entrepreneurs and their partners succeed in creating approaches that are pragmatic and sustainable?
The research group is located at the University of Greifswald and the Institute for Ecological Economy Research, Berlin. GETIDOS is sponsored from 2009 to 2013 through the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s (BMBF) program, Social-Ecological Research (SÖF) .
